Our Farm, Our Mission, Our Story

From a very young age, I was driven to serve my Family, Community, and Country.  In 1996 I enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard right out of high school, and upon graduating from Arkansas State Univerisity, in the year 2000, I commissioned onto Active Duty.  Over that 25 years, I have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows.  But, the best thing that happened to me was meeting my wife during an overseas assignment in South Korea.  A former Peace Corps volunteer and army officer, it was apparent straight away that we both held a passion for service -- and life is an adventure ever since.

So it isn't a stretch to say our business is born out of the change of our life's Mission -- from serving our Nation and fellow Americans -- to serving our Family and local Community.  We believe the strength of our Nation inherently resides in our rural communities; and the

backbone of our Communities is our Farmers, Ranchers, agricultural enthusiasts, and their Families.

Our business began during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020.  As the world looked around for help, we clearly saw the need for self-sustaining Families and Communities.  It was clear to us that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more independently, efficiently, and satisfyingly than an over-dependence for others to solve our problems – all while living our best life.

Believing something is one thing, turning that belief into action is another.  As combat veterans, our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through our actions and determination of following through with our commitments.  That is why I ultimately decided to launch our Handyman, Rural & Agriculture Services LLC.

Ok, for the more pessimistic among us who cannot fathom anything so idealistic, it is not like I don't get anything out of it.  As I neared retirement, I finally started thinking about what I wanted to do when I grew up; what my mind turned to time and time again is my former Army co-workers leaving the service for a job where they find themselves locked up in an office all day to turn a profit for someone else.

What I wanted to do was to be out working with my hands, helping others, being of service to my community, being around for my wife and kids, all while keeping a feeling of pride and gratitude.  During the covid outbreak, I had plenty of time to beat the system somehow and earn my personal freedom in retirement.  Be my own boss - No more asking permission to live my life. Following this career path is very satisfying because you actually get to help people and instantly get the gratification of a job well done. Customers love their handyman, and it’s great to feel needed. I was moving my body - I would not be relegated to a life stuck behind a computer while my health declined.

Oh, and I have two built-in farmhands, aged 3 and 7.  I would make every day bring your kids to work day if I could!
